What sits on top of base salary

Base salary is the grid. These are the payments that can sit on top of it under the resident-doctor agreements — clause by clause, both unions compared.

Rural Hospital Allowance

5% of base salary, paid fortnightly, at 19 named hospitals.

On-call allowance (rostered on call, normal off-duty hours)

$8 an hour.

$10 an hour.

On-call allowance where employer asks the RMO to cover an absent colleague or a roster vacancy

$25 an hour.

Minimum 3 hours, paid at additional-duty rates.
