Pay / Registrar
From your first registrar job to the top of the grid. The column is your run's expected weekly hours, the row is your year of registrar service — and past year 5 you need to be in a training programme to keep climbing.
GPEP registrars are on a flat annual salary by post-graduate years, not the run-category grid: less than 5 years $124,904, 5/6 years $132,517, 7+ years $139,545 from 3 August 2026. GP registrar pay →
Additional duties (extra shifts): $85/hr day, $130/hr night for a registrar; $120/$180 for a senior registrar (Part I passed, step 4+, in a training programme).
Dual trainee allowance $5,300 for a year where you're already on the top step for your category.
Conference leave 8 days and up to $8,000 from year 5 or Part I + 12 months.
